Our most notable involvements have seen us implement ICF technology into some of the UK’s most prestigious large scale family homes, some of which have been recognised nationally and internationally in ICF award categories.
As a licensed and approved distributor of Jackon Insulation materials specialising in Thermomur ICF and Jackodur Atlas Raft Foundation System. We provide a range of services to accompany the ICF products that best meet the needs of our clients. We have close working relationships with the UK’s best installation teams that enables us to offer a “supply and fit” service. For clients with their own building team, we provide either; on-site management for the duration of the ICF construction or, a full project consultancy service – from inception to completion. We also provide an ICF building materials “supply only” service which includes full onsite accredited training and product logistics – organised around the specified installation team.
As with any new process, in any industry, time and experience is required in order to streamline and perfect the performance. Modern methods of construction are no exception. Given the global success and continued growth of ICF, we are able to bring years’ worth of international expertise and development to the UK. This, along with our time in the industry, positions us and ICF ahead of alternative modern methods of construction. However, we believe that there is a time and a place for everything. We work with specialists across all construction methods, alongside ICF, in order to provide the most robust service to our clients from; SIPs panel roofs, to ICF/timber frame combination projects.
A Fabric First Approach
ICF is the abbreviation for Insulated Concrete Formwork. ICF is a building system used throughout the world for over 50 years. Despite it’s global development and success, ICF has struggled to find a market in the UK. Now, with an ever increasing focus on sustainability and responsibility, ICF is quickly becoming one of the most notable “modern” methods of construction.
Insulated concrete forms (sometimes referred to as ICFs) are hollow blocks of expanded polystyrene (EPS) which are stacked together on site to provide both exterior and internal walls. These walls are then reinforced with metal bars and filled with concrete. This process delivers load-bearing walls that result in a wall system of unmatched comfort, energy efficiency, strength and sound reduction.
The installation process is simple and quick. Therefore, the construction time on site is significantly reduced, when compared to traditional building methods.
The Man Behind It All.
In early 2020, Matthew established ICF Building Solutions taking on the responsibility of Director after many years working for the family business in high end, luxury and sustainable developments.
Matthews professional background is primarily in project management, cost management and construction management. Matthews focus on sustainable building methods over the years has seen him gain a specialist knowledge in the field of ICF construction.
Having worked in all sectors of construction, Matthew has now turned his focus to more sustainable and responsible building practices. This shift in focus resulted in the creation of the ICF Building Solutions.
Matthew’s hands-on experience and knowledge of the construction and ICF industry enables ICF Building Solutions with the practical on-site management and training to fulfil any sized domestic and commercial project. Matthew’s experience is key to the success of many projects.
Working together with international partners, Matthew has grown ICF Building Solutions to become a licensed distributor and retailer of Jackon ICF products, bringing Norwegian expertise and affordable products to the UK market.
