This was a rare opportunity to restore a set of old farm buildings, the oldest of which has a carved dated stone lintel depicting the year 1680.
The development was a mixture of refurbishment, extensions and 1 low energy new build.
A timber beam in the barn has been carbon dated to the 900 AD when the tree was felled. It is thought the beam was originally cut to be used in a nearby Monastery, which no longer exists.
All extensions are stone clad to blend in with the original structures.
The site made good progress, with the new build and farm buildings completed on target at the end of 2016.
We are extremely happy with this site, if you look at the most recent photos you will see why. Doesn’t it look incredible? We have added a few internal shots to show just how impressive these homes are.
Work on these four magnificent new and refurbished properties is now complete, and the remaining houses are on the market. However, work begins soon on a new stable block, so watch this space!
